Diwali (Deepavali) is one of the most auspicious and widely observed festivals in Sanatan Dharma, celebrating the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and wisdom over spiritual ignorance. The five-day celebration starts on Govatsa Dwadashi and Dhanteras, continues with Kali Chaudas (Naraka Chaturdashi), the primary Lakshmi-Ganesha Pujan on Diwali Amavasya, Govardhan Puja (Annakut), and concludes with Bhaiya Dooj.
Classical Vedic treatises prescribe that Lakshmi Puja is most auspiciously performed during Pradosh Kaal when Sthira (Fixed) Vrishabha Lagna prevails. A Sthira Lagna ensures that Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of divine wealth and spiritual abundance, resides permanently in the household or enterprise.
